in spite of ourselves, we'll end up sittin' on a rainbow.

a film review, for you.

Eat Pray Love

Based on the book that made millions of women with emotional problems stuff their faces with pizza and meditate, this features Julia Roberts as Elizabeth Gilbert, the divorced writer who travelled for a year. Fuck seeing this. Instead, buy a one-way plane ticket, get fat on exotic foods, wear loose pants, find a guru, scrub some floors, drink some tequila, eat again, get your palm read by some old guy with no teeth and hope that Javier Bardem will also want to have sex with you. (RH)

AMC Forum 2:55pm, 6:15pm, 9:30pm

p.s. i am here! montreal in autumn. (far away from cowboy coffee hell) my love. time changes and late buses have left me sleepless and internet wandering. i went film searching and found this. a film review, for you - it's basically us who wrote it. dunno how it happened. it just did.

so much love! i miss you!

You make birthdays wonderful.

.em.

you are an incredible friend.
what a way to start a birthday.

a collection of birthday mementos
(recollections of magic, in fact)
yes, there may have been too much milk consumed.
but hey, it's switzerland? what the fuck.

a stream of birthday dance moves
starring, well, the one and only:
julius, baby of the world

background dancer:
"big sunnies em"
(as they call her)

who else could it have been, really?

and then, in the day to follow, the most extraordinary
packages wrapped in yarn and glitter,
enveloping
majestic beings from other lands
(no, i've never encountered mr.dean
but i am elated that he is now a part of my universe),
notes from far away,
love spilling through the seams,
a baby who can steal your heart
(into infinity and a bit beyond).

you have an ability to tip me over the edge
so that i fall,
end over end,
(down some kind of a rainbow waterfall)
into a turquoise pool of enormous smiles.

you have this effect - it's sort of what you seem to do.

thank you em. you absolutely turned my entire day into a whole series of magic tricks.
(and from so so far away)

how do you do it?
well, the imaginarium of course!

so, i give you a few treats from the farm.
the most wondrous place a gal' could go.

this here is sticks.
(em: meet sticks.)
he likes to herd. but im not a sheep, so it's pretty annoying.
he's sweet an'all.

this is mendel.
mendel was born in italy,
grew up in montreal
and now he's an organic farmer outside of savona.
he is absolutely one
of the sweetest people you
could ever even hope to meet.
the best.

to the left: soll, mendel's son.
he runs the show. he & mendel yell a lot.
still though, the best.

just a couple end of day sun rays
through the rye.
they've always been my favourite.

love always,
k.

p.s.
have a looksie loo at this little guy.
he works at the farm.
we recently discovered that he's connected to the ufos.
interesting times, em, interesting times.

p.p.s
phone call is in order?
what's going down on the eastern front?
i work until 7pm tomorrow night.
apres that?

xoxo and all the love,
all the way to michigan (far away).

my last lunch in montreal (boring post but fun movie)

dear emma,

at this moment in time, i am sitting at the table on the back porch of my summer sublet house eating
salad
(which tastes a bit gritty from dirt?)
and drinking a
fairly mediocre quebec beer.
to accompany my lunch,
(lonely lunches don't taste as good),
i have been watching a fun little film called "Alice"
by a filmmaker named Jan Svankmajer.
He makes some pretty incredible stuff.
(i can send you more)

my plane leaves montreal in about three hours.
i will fly across the country and then *poof* i'll live in BC again.
and montreal will become a place, far away.
just like that.

love.

up, up, and away.

:train ride tears:

detroit: sci-fi city of something (that once was).
You are with julius (the-love-of-my-world),
in those buildings, just down the road.
They look as orwellian from Windsor as they do in Detroit.
(in 'merica)

I can almost see you.
Not quite close enough to shout

Don't leave yet,
I want to come back!

Away I went.
Away you went.
Away, we go.
xx.
